Resources and discussions about making church accessible to all.

About

About us.

My name is Lynn and I am passionate about making church inclusive and accessible for adults and children with additional needs, autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. That includes giving a voice to people who want to be included and what they want to say about that. I have ADHD but only was diagnosed in 2021.

I have taught in mainstream schools, special schools and am now an independent autism, ADHD and PDA specialist teacher - but in churches I have been involved for 12 years in running a congregation for adults with learning disabilities - which was the best expression and most accessible church experience I have ever experienced. I wrote about it in a blog which is where the 'Included by grace' name started.

Currently I am working with my new church to develop awareness, understanding and practical changes that make the whole church welcoming and accessible for a wide range of people with additional needs. We have introduced Makaton signing, new visuals and sensory bags. I also do some bits of awareness training and support in my local diocese and training for other churches, particularly around children's work.
